When we decided we needed a more employee-oriented, collaboration-friendly and technology-enabled office environment, we didn’t know we would find it in Wichita, Kansas—a city we’d called home for 38 years. But with the prospect of disrupting the lives of existing employees, and the promise of a redeveloping downtown, we decided to maintain our roots here in America’s agricultural heartland, close to the farmers and the food companies we partner with.
The new 188,000-square foot state-of-the-art headquarters building was designed as a destination to retain and recruit top talent and immerse customers in innovative culinary and food sensory experiences.

Growth, innovation and collaboration
Confirming our commitment to growth, innovation and new business capabilities, this $70 million investment connects Cargill’s 800 Wichita-based employees with 28,000 additional colleagues across North America and more than three dozen protein production facilities in the U.S. and Canada.
The 188,000-square foot state-of-the-art headquarters building is located near the Cargill Innovation Center at 300 West 1st Street North, enabling close collaboration as the teams develop customer-first solutions for our valued partners.
The campus promotes a collaborative and inventive work environment that will drive growth for both Cargill and our customers. Crowdsourced solutions from employees guided the design of the facility, which features:
- An immersive technology conference room that enables employees to collaborate easier and faster
- Upgraded café with 24-hour grab-and-go options
- Presentation kitchen to inspire culinary innovation
- Sensory center to conduct product research, focus groups and product testing
- Outdoor Wi-Fi lounges and a third-floor terrace
- Outdoor courtyard with grill and firepit
- Private/public five-story parking garage

Giving back to the Wichita community
As with all Cargill locations, we are committed to making an impact in the communities in which we live and work. We partnered with many local contractors and vendors during planning and construction of the new headquarters building. We’ve donated more than $2 million in financial support to a variety of nonprofit organizations in surrounding communities focused on nutrition, food security, sustainability and building connected communities. Many of our employees are active members of the Cargill Cares Wichita team.
