Local Skilled Labor
We’re proud of the national network of offices we’ve assembled
and even more proud of the overall quality of our skilled craftsmen which is available to serve your local skilled labor needs precisely when you need them.
Each office is staffed with a team of labor management professionals – District
Managers, Recruiters and Field Representatives – who are required
to complete extensive labor productivity and construction management
training at the company’s Tradesmen Education Center located at
our company headquarters. This training, combined with hands-on field
experience, enables each to make certain contractors and industrial clients
have just the right number of skilled craftsmen to operate their businesses
most profitably.
Our field representatives do so by establishing bona-fide partnerships
with clients which ultimately facilitates a thorough understanding of
all labor-related aspects of partnering clients. This knowledge enables
them to help you eliminate unnecessary employee hold-over and downtime
costs and to steer you toward a “just right” staffing solution
that keeps your best workers productive and supplements your full-time
staff with our skilled craftsmen as needed. The results are increased
productivity, reduced labor costs and more profit per job...not to mention
a job done on time, safely and to high quality standards.
NEED-TO-KNOW STAFFING SERVICE FACTS
What does it cost?
There are no upfront costs to register with Tradesmen. When you use one of
our skilled craftsmen or skilled labor, you’re billed the quoted hourly rate times the hours
worked – that’s it.
How are our craftsmen billed out?
Each is assigned an hourly rate based upon their trade and NCCER “validated” skill
level. We have Helpers, Apprentices, Journeymen and Leadmen, and you’ll
only pay for the level you obtain from us.
How do you access our skilled craftsmen?
Simply call Tradesmen with the type of craftsmen you are looking for. Our
field representative will take that information and select the person who
best meets your qualifications. You will then be advised on the specifics
of the particular Tradesmen employee and be informed of their hourly wage.
When should you call Tradesmen? How long does it take?
There are two distinct ways to work with us:
- Planned Labor Partnering – Our most successful clients pre-determine
their labor needs several days or even weeks in advance. By doing so,
they can reserve specific Tradesmen employees they know by name or
ensure that they’ll be able to access larger numbers of specific
types of craftsmen they will be needing.
- Immediate Labor Fulfillment – You can’t always plan
ahead and that’s no problem for us. In most cases, we can have
qualified skilled craftsmen at your site in 24 hours or less.
How does Tradesmen hire its craftsmen?
While we recruit our employees through traditional advertising means, we ensure
a higher standard of craftsmen by implementing a rigorous screening process
administered by recruiters with a least 8 years of construction experience.
The hiring process includes, but is not limited to, one-on-one interviews,
skill testing and checking of at least three verifiable work references.
How can we claim to have one of the most qualified skilled labor forces
in America?
Once hired, we constantly evaluate our force. We keep only those employees
that meet strict quality and reliability standards. We consistently replace
the bottom 10% – who simply don’t make the grade – with craftsmen
who do. In addition, we require OSHA safety training as “a condition
of hire,” and both
offer and encourage skill training opportunities.
Labor Satisfaction Guarantee
Tradesmen guarantees that the worker sent to your jobsite will be of the quality
you expect and have the knowledge you requested. If not, simply contact us
within the first 4 hours and you will not be billed for that individual.
We will quickly replace that worker.
